Hammster Wheel records was started by
musician Tim Hamm., in January of 2003.
With 20 years of performing in various venues and studios, Tim
decided it was time to start up his own studio and record
label. After engineering and co-producing
two projects, Tim found it was a logical progression to also
support the manufacturing and distribution of some of his
favorite artists.
"There's plenty of music out there that
isn't getting properly supported, and my goal is to help other
musicians that are excited about working within the
independent label scene", says Tim, a longtime supporter
of local music and artists. "I see many bands
putting out excellent music, but packaging them in poor
quality cover art and CD-Rs. These bands put all
their money into the recording, and then fail to put any money
into the final product. It is a bit frustrating to
see great music poorly represented. I'm
hoping to help improve that situation."
Hammster Wheel records focuses on studio
recording, audio restoration, and the duplication/distribution
support of independent artists. "Hammster
Wheel is all about supporting bands that have quality music
and a high ethical standard. We prefer to support
bands that have a strong moral character and a unique
quality to their music." The goal of
Hammster Wheel records is to help support bands that are
unique and moral.
Hammster Wheel first produced "Sometimes
You're Weary", for Michigan artist Dete Tilma.
This CD has received great reviews, despite limited
distribution.
Hammster Wheel followed with producing the
2003 Sojourn CD release "Once Again".
The "Once Again" CD, has become the highest selling
disc in their career, and Hammster Wheel plans to continue to
build upon that success. In 2005, Hammster
Wheel has produced the Tsunami benefit compilation CD
"Artists For Hope". We also partnered
with Ed Englerth on the release of his "D.I.A.L.
Business" CD, and Sojourn's "The Journey
Continues..." CD.
At the last half of 2009, Hammster Wheel released Dete Tilma's
"Glass of Water" (his second project with
us). We also were given the opportunity to
provide mastering services to Adam Parmenter (Sojourn lead
vocalist) for his "The Treasure"
release. Both projects are available
at the Hammster Wheel "store"
page.
In 2011, we are working a new Dete Tilma project, and
are looking to release a 24-bit remastered Anniversary
edition of the 1990 release from Michigan indie Christian
metal band "Rude Awakening".
The future is full of many new opportunities
for Hammster Wheel, and feel free to contact us if you would
like to be a part of our progress.
