Studio Details:

Hammster Wheel operates a small recording studio. The foundation of the studio is our Digi 003 hardware, running Pro Tools 8 LE. We also use Sony Media's SoundForge software for our restoration and mastering services. Using these industry standard tools allow us to help you with economical services, which can also be compatible with taking your projects to more extensive studios.

Hammster Wheel uses Digidesign's Digi003 and Pro Tools LE 8, to provide digital multi-track recording of bands or solo artists. Pro Tools LE allows us to record your music, while maintaining compatibility with the popular Pro Tools software found in most major studios. Track your instruments at Hammster Wheel, and you can still take your project to most studios for additional recording, mix-down, and/or mastering. Numerous software plug-ins are available to help enhance recording experience.

We have also recently added CakeWalk Sonar 8 - Producer Edition software to our system, enhancing our MIDI and digital audio recording capabilities. While not as directly compatible with Pro Tools, the tracks can be saved in a format allowing them to be imported into Pro Tools (if necessary).

Hammster Wheel has "out board" effect units for integration into both digital and analog recordings.

Hammster Wheel is equipped with multiple microphones and direct boxes, as well as effect units. With digital recordings, "plug ins" are available to add effects to individual tracks. Hammster Wheel has standard electric guitars and bass guitars available for use. We can provide musicians to assist, if desired.

"Mastering" is the process of taking the final stereo mixes, and creating a consistent sounding final product. Specific equalization and loudness settings help create a more pleasing listening experience. Also, track order and spacing is reviewed to help create the impact desired by the artist.

Hammster Wheel has been working with the H2 portable digital recorder from Zoom. The Zoom H2 Handy recorder uses the common SD memory cards, and has internal microphones for both standard stereo and 4 channel recording. This has proven to be a great option for remote recording of bands or spoken word.
